Direct Film Transfer printing and heat transfer vinyl allow us to print smaller orders at a more cost effective rate than what would be possible with screen printing, as the setup time to prepare a print is much quicker with this decoration type. Our digital printing process allows for designs with unlimited colours to be printed at lower quantities than screen printing.
Heat transfer printing allows us to add custom individual names or numbers to almost any garment. This is a great addition to any order for a sports team, company or organization. It's a great way to add value to your garments to make them extra special for your group or team.
Direct Film Transfer printing is great for reproducing logos with a high level of detail, even at a small size. This digital printing process can create a print so crisp and exact, it can look like a photograph. This is especially important for jackets and polyester based garments that are not suitable for some other types of printing like Direct to Garment.
Heat transfer printing is a high quality and cost effective way to decorate garments when a large order size isn't needed. Unlike screen printing, which involves a lengthy and costly set up process, a design can typically be set up for Direct Film Transfers or vinyl within a few minutes if the artwork is prepared in a suitable format.
Choosing heat transfer printing is a cost-effective option if you are looking for a smaller orders of custom clothing. Whereas screen printing typically requires a minimum order size of about 24 pieces, vinyl allows us to print orders in as low of a quantity as 6 pieces, while still giving our clients wholesale discount pricing.
The process of heat transfer printing is straight forward and cost effective. The majority of the designs we print using this method are "Direct Film Transfer" prints where using a larger printer, the ink of a design is printed onto a carrier sheet. A single colour design can also be cut into vinyl for simpler one colour designs.
The next step in the process is placing the garment on one of our professional grade heat presses. After giving the garment a pre-press to remove any excess moisture or wrinkles, the transfer is lined up on the garment using our laser alignment system for a perfect, straight placement every time. The design is then heat sealed into the garment at between 280-330° celsius. After the garment has cooled off, any carrier material is removed and the process is complete. The high quality transfers that we use is rated to last at least 50 washes. As with screen printed garments, for best results, wash on a low heat setting with the garment turned inside out, and either air dry or choose a low heat drying setting.
