Vinyl Printing

Make your t-shirt one of a kind! Heat transfer vinyl printing allows us to print smaller orders than what would be possible with screen printing, as the setup time to prepare a print is much quicker with this decoration type. Our computer assisted design vinyl printing process allows us to print  up to two colours on a garment, or we can jump up to a full colour digital print!

Vinyl printing allows us to add custom individual names or numbers to almost any garment. This is a great addition to any order for a sports team, company or organization. It's a great way to add value to your garments to make them extra special for your group.

Our full colour print/cut system is great for reproducing logos with a high level of detail, even at a small size. This digital printing process can create a print so crisp and exact, it can look like a photograph. This is especially important for jackets and polyester based garments that are not suitable for direct to garment printing.

Vinyl transfer printing via a heat press is a high quality and cost effective way to decorate garments when a large order size isn't needed. Unlike screen printing, which involves a lengthy and costly set up process, a design can typically be set up for vinyl printing within a few minutes if the artwork is prepared in a suitable format. Classic vinyl transfer printing works best for relatively simple designs being printed in one or two colours on a garment. At Stay Golden Custom we also offer full colour print/cut digital transfers with which we can print logos that use an unlimited number of colours.

Choosing heat transfer vinyl is a cost-effective option if you are looking for a smaller orders of custom clothing. Whereas screen printing typically requires a minimum order size of about 24 pieces, vinyl allows us to print orders in as low of a quantity as 6 pieces, while still giving our clients wholesale discount pricing.

The process of vinyl printing is straight forward and cost effective.  After a design has been colour separated digitally through our software, a vinyl cutter machine cuts the design directly into the material.

Our production team members then peel any excess vinyl away and prepare the transfer for printing.

The next step in the process is placing the garment on one of our professional grade heat presses. After giving the garment a pre-press to remove any excess moisture or wrinkles, the transfer is lined up on the garment using our laser alignment system for a perfect, straight placement every time. The design is then heat sealed into the garment at between 280-330° celsius. After the garment has cooled off, any carrier material is removed and the process is complete. The high quality matte vinyl that we use is rated to last at least 50 washes on a garment, many times outlasting the clothing itself. As with screen printed garments, for best results, wash on a low heat setting with the garment turned inside out, and either air dry or choose a low heat drying setting.

We typically stock between 15-20 colours of vinyl at our production facility. The final print is soft to the touch and has a silky matte finish. Last year we were very excited to introduce metallic gold and silver colours swatches that can add a shimmer to designs when requested by our clients.

Digital Heat Transfers usually caters to smaller custom orders or projects that involve very detailed artwork with a high number of colours and shades. Our full colour print/cut digital heat transfer printing allows you to have full-colour artwork that features a print so crisp and exact, it can look like a photograph.

With this decoration style your logo is printed directed onto a very thin vinyl transfer which is then weeded, masked and heat sealed onto a garment with one of our four professional grade heat presses.

As your logo is printed onto this material, there will be a background behind your design which is typically white. Upon request we can match this background colour to the garment by extending the ink to the edges of the design.

The cost of using this decoration method doesn’t change based on the number of colours in your customized design, but varies depending on the size of area that needs to be covered. It is a great fit for quarter sized left chest prints on sweaters, polos and jackets.
