The process begins with the design being digitally printed onto a clear film coated with a light adhesive. The key to DTF's versatility lies in its ability to use a special type of ink that can adhere to various fabric types, including cotton, polyester, and blends. After printing the ink, a powder adhesive is applied to the back of the printed film, which is then cured to ensure the ink and adhesive bond securely. Stay Golden Custom's DFT transfers are produced in house with our state of the art production equipment.
The final step in the process involves transferring the design from the film to the fabric using heat and pressure from one of our professional grade heat presses. The transfer is lined up on the garment using our laser alignment system for a straight, even placement every time. The heat activates the adhesive, allowing the design to bond firmly to the fabric, while the pressure ensures it embeds evenly across the surface.
DTF printing stands out for its ability to produce detailed, durable, and color-rich designs that can withstand multiple washes without fading or cracking. It's particularly advantageous for short runs, custom designs, or samples where the setup time and costs associated with traditional screen printing methods are a barrier.
